Part of the UK Sonic Landscape, these listening stations were used as an acoustic early warning system during the Second World War. Unlike so much of the UK's second world war heritage that have been erased by developments such as technology parks and replaced as systems in the public imaginary by the intelligence and GPS network, these relics remain as a result of their material form. Concrete solid monuments speaking to the forms of modernism, these relics are testament to the material shape of experiments of a former age.
